The level of playing in the Japanese men’s volleyball championship V.Premier League is not the same without foreign players. And when they are not present on the court in the climax of the season, it is a big blow both for the teams in which they compete and the fans.

The Croatian Igor Omrčen from Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza and Australian Thomas Edgar from JT THunders missed the most of Game 2 of the championship semifinals. Omrčen left the match in the second set, while Edgar did not play the match at all.

According to Game 2 report in the V.League website, Omrčen has a problem with the Achilles tendon while Edgar sustained an ankle injury in Game 1 of the semifinals, which forced him to leave the court in the second set.

And while the season is over for Edgar, not only because of his injury but also because his team Thunders lost the semis, the participation of Omrčen in the finals against Panasonic Panthers, whose starting opposite Kunihiro Shimizu is sidelined, is very doubtful. And without their best scorer, Trefuerza’s chances against the top-seed are slim.
