BRA M: Rezende’s holiday – surgery, Disneyland and lot of thinking

Shortly after WCH, Rezende spent three days in the hospital recovering from an urgent kidney surgery and he spent only half of the time on vacation as initially planned. Rezende had promised to his daughters that he would take them to Disneyland and did not change his mind.

During that period, he had enough time to think about the next season in Superliga and also about the finals against the Poles, in which Brazil set up goals to win their fourth title, but could not take advantage of them and saw the hosts lifting the trophy.

“I was thinking about the team and the injuries we faced. Our quest is to understand what we need to do to take the last important step. We were second and it is a great result, but we want more. And that requires a questioning of all how to improve ourselves. The younger ones have to be more decisive, others have to improve themselves more. Murilo, who did a great job at the World Championship despite the pain, just made a shoulder surgery. This shows that he wants to do well for the club, but also shows a commitment to the national team” – Rezende said.

Current champions Rexona Ades will play their first match in SuperLiga on November 7th, at 21:30 (GMT) against Rio do Sul, in the gymnasium of Tijuca.
