Three Women’s volleyball superstars will likely play in Hinode Barueri, the newcomers in the Brazilian Superliga coached by the legendary José Roberto Guimarãs ‘Zé Roberto’, this season. So far, only one of them has signed the contract…

Two of these three superstars struggle with injuries and that is the main reason why they still did not sign the deal with Barueri. Only Jaqueline Carvalho officially committed herself to Superliga rookies for the 2017/18.

Barueri coach Zé Roberto hopes to see a two-time Olympic Games winner Thaísa Daher and a two-time CEV European Championship winner Katarzyna Skowrońska-Dolata in his squad soon. The Pole said she did not sign the deal yet.

“Things are moving forward. What we have to think of is Thaísa’s recovery. She has to recover and be well, and then we can think of something else. What she is doing now is the physical part and physiotherapy. This is helping. What worries me less is her success, what worries me most is her recovery. She is an important player for the team, but also important for Brazil,” Zé Roberto spoke about Thaísa, who recently started to practice with the ball.

Recall that Thaísa got permission from a club with whom she extended the contract, Eczacıbaşı VitrA İstanbul from Turkey, to stay in Brazil for the 2017/18. After getting the offers from several clubs in her home country, the middle blocker has chosen Barueri to play this season, although it will not happen before January due to her rehabilitation process from a knee surgery.
