In their fourth match this year, they celebrated new victory and this time against Belgium after five amazing sets 3-2 (21-25, 25-19, 23-25, 31-29, 15-10).

Lonneke Slöetjes led her team in the first match of Week 2 in Pool in Japan by finishing the match with 26 points, while Anne Buijs also had a superb match, finishing with 20 points. On the opponents’ side, Kaja Grobelna scored a game-high 28 points while Britt Herbots scored 22 points.

In the first match in Suwon, South Korea, Russia scored the straight sets victory 3-0 (26-24, 25-12, 25-23) over hapless Italy who are still without a win. This was their third win this year after they suffered defeat from the Netherland in the last match of Week 1.

Irina Voronkova finished with 14 points (11 spikes and 3 serves) and she was ably supported by Irina Fetisova (12 points), Natalia Malykh (12 points) and captain Kseniia Parubets (11 points.

Serena Ortolani (14 points) tried her hardest for a gallant Italy, who matched Russia's intensity for two of the sets.
