The President of Italian title holders, Catia Pedrini, made an initial assessment of a crowdfunding campaign raised to collect at least one million euros for club’s survival.
Pedrini said that Modena need a budget of 3.5 million euros to continue playing in Serie A1. A major problem occurred at the moment as their main sponsor “DHL” announced termination of cooperation with the club. Thus, she and her associates will have to speed up finding a new sponsor.
“However, if new capital entry opportunities do not show up by the end of June, I will be forced to offer the players for sale and to shut down the club,” she said.
The crowdfunding campaign initially lasted until May 30 but will continue until July 9. Pedrini emphasized that all donations will be returned to the supporters if the target set of 1,000,000 euros is not achieved.
