Trefl, who set off the season with a burden of financial problems on their shoulders as their main sponsor departed which forced club management to reduce salaries of the players, achieved the 7th win in nine games in the PlusLiga. By beating Dafi Społem Kielce by a 3-0, the team coached by an Italian Andrea Anastasi kept a perfect 5-0 campaign on the road. Interestingly, the next round’s match against PGE Skra Bełchatów will be the third traveling match for Trefl in a row. As for the encounter with Kielce, Damian Schulz topped Trefl with 21 points.
Indykpol AZS Olsztyn broke a three-game losing streak as they defeated highly weakened Cuprum Lubin. With 14 points each, the Czech Jan Hadrava, Jakub Kochanowski and Belgian Tomas Rousseaux led Olsztyn to a triumph while Łukasz Kaczmarek, who has just returned to the squad after recovering from an injury, highlighted Lubin with 26 points. Cuprum coach, the Frenchman Patrick Duflos, could not count on two players for the match due to injuries: Dawid Gunia and Estonian Robert Täht.
