N’GAPETH FOR WOV: Lot of French rap and Samuel Eto’o

by WoV

Finally we have him! The craziest one on the volleyball court, young French superstar, Earvin N'Gapeth, had some interesting things to say for WorldofVolley.

Earvin

Earvin

Earvin was in a great mood, every single French player was. No wonder about amazing results with so much fun that they have. Laughter never seem to stop with France.

Even though it was somewhat easy to get him after the practice this morning, I was kind of nervous that he might run away so I almost shouted (he was two meters away from me) – Earvin!. So how could I ask him something boring and classic when they were having so much fun? Had to change the “gameplan” a little bit.

Who was the coach that gave you the most in your career?

“It has to be my father. No question about it. When you play for someone who is from the family, especially your father, you give so much more on the court.”

Is there a difference between playing for NT and for your club?

“Those are two different things but, I think every player wants to do their best no matter if it’s your team or your country. When you play volleyball or any given sport, you want to win and then you play with your maximum ability. At least I’m like that.”

Who’s the biggest clown, the funniest one?

“It’s him, just look at his face. One and only Franck Lafitte.” (Franck’s reaction wasn’t for general public, let’s just leave it at that). Earvin then continued “We are all friends, lot of us play together for such a long time, with youth and junior selections, we really have great chemistry.”

Just for the record I asked about funny story from the Championship, even a short one, but Earvin couldn’t pull one out. He tried really, even he was surprised that nothing came up. So we moved on.

Do you like football?

“I watch some football here and there. Paris Saint-Germain is my favorite team of course. Still even though he never played in France, I really like Samuel Eto’o, he is my favorite player.”

How about video games?

“Actually no. I play FIFA sometimes but rarely. Music is my thing, my passion, mainly rap music, French rap music.” I tried to be smart and mentioned Maitre Gims but Earvin was quick to correct me: “No no no, he does some kind of R’n’B, I like Booba for example.”

I felt that I’m maybe starting to be annoying so Earvin was free to go. Thank you Earvin!
