Neriman Ozsoy and Neslihan Darnel scored 12 points each to lead the Turkey women to the 25-23, 25-9 and 25-20 victory in 67 minutes.

Turkey had 13 blocks and 11 ace serves, against nine and three of Cuba, but Cuba were merely defeated by themselves as they made 17 errors.

The Turkish team, who saw an opening victory over Thailand on Thursday, started strongly in the first set.

Led by Neriman Ozsoy, Turkey jumped to a 9-3 lead with lethal outside hits, but shortly after that, Polen Uslupehlivan twisted her ankle which gave Cuba a chance to catch up.

Cuba managed to tie it at 15-15 and led into the second TTO at 16-15, but its frequent at-net errors allowed Turkey to go up again at 21-20.

Ozsoy had two successful kills from the left side of the net to give Turkey the set point at 24-23 , and Neslihan Darnel converted it to the victory with another spike from the other side afterward.

Cuba geared up in the second set and jumped to an 5-1 lead, but Turkey staged an amazing 12-2 run on back of high quality blocking before entering the second TTO with 16-8 ahead.

The one-minute timeout could not stop Turkey‘s surging as they rallied to 21-8 upon a series mistakes made by their opponents.

The Cubans were totally crushed by themselves as Turkey ran to the second set victory at 25-9 without any resistance.

Cuba seemly to get its offense going at the start of the third set and managed to tie at 2-all. However, Turkey ran off six points in a row thereafter for a comfortable 15-10 cushion and went on to take the victory 25-20.
