Russia’s President congratulates national team on World Cup win

Moscow, Russia, December 9, 2011. Russia’s Head of State Dmitry Medvedev did closely follow the performances of the men’s national team that recently finished on top of the standings at the FIVB World Cup in Japan, thereby qualifying also for the 2012 Olympics in London. Maxim Mikhaylov was voted there MVP of the tournament.

Mr. Medvedev recently addressed a few words to the Russian Volleyball Federation to express his joy and proud for such a great result:

 

I would like to congratulate you for winning the World Cup” reads the message.

 

You performed brilliantly in Japan and you eventually finished a top of the standings in such a prestigious tournament. After edging very strong opponents you also qualified for the Olympics. Professionalism, team spirit and the guidance provided by experienced coaches contributed to your success. I wish you the very best of luck for the London Olympics coming up next year”.
