There are some athletes who left huge mark in sports despite their early departure from a life scene. One of them was Jimmy George, volleyball player from India who was defying gravity.
George was the first Hindu professional volleyball player known by his gigantic spiking reach for the time, 30 and more years ago. Unfortunatelly, he died in a car accident in Italy, on November 30, 1987 at the age of 32.
For the first time, the world of volleyball heard about him at the end of ’70s and beginning of ’80s when he dominated at several Asian Games with tremendous jump.
Thanks to that, George set himself the transfer to Italy where he was wearing jerseys of Treviso (1982/1983 and 1985/1986), Impiani (1983/1984) and Gabeca (1987).
