BRA W: Minas keep the top spot

Minas have scored the 15th win in the women’s Brazilian Superliga to keep the top position.

 

They defeated Fluminense in straight sets 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-12). Three players of Minas had 12 points each Mara Leao, Lana Conceicao and Bruna Honorio.

Praia Clube needed a victory to continue the race for the first place and they have done it, beating Sesi Volei in three sets. Fe Garay (15 points) and Fabiana (14 points) were the best scorers in Praia’s victory.

Isabel Yonkaria (11 points) and Monique Pavao (10 points) led SESC RJ to the win over Pinheiros 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-14).

Women’s Brazilian Superliga, round 16:

Balneario – Camboriou 1-3 (25-17, 21-25, 22-25, 19-25)

Minas – Fluminense 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-12)

Sao Caetano – Curitiba 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 25-15)

SESC RJ – Pinheiros 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-14)

Osasco – Barueri 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 28-26)

Praia Clube – Sesi Volei 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 26-24)

RUS W: Despite renewing with Dinamo Moscow, Ognjenović will join VakıfBank

Wow! Ognjenović had some heated clashes with the Vakifbank coach on court while she was playing for EcZ. I have seen in one video that she was screaming at him. Ognjenović is fiery and the captain of the National Serbia team and is considered one of the best setters (and smart) in the world. I like this move. The current setter for Vakifbank makes bad decisions(and poor sets) at bad times that caused them. Reply
