Returning to the national competition after participating in the FIVB Club World Championship, Itambé/Minas dominated Sesc RJ in the big match of Round 8 of the 2019/20 Brazilian Women’s Volleyball Championship regular season.

In a duel of the two teams that have won all matches in the 2019/20 Superliga Feminina regular season prior to this round, the champions Minas outplay leaders in the charts Sesc by a 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-22).

Thaísa Menezes led Minas with 14 points, while Tandara Caixeta scored 18 points and Natália Araújo “Natinha” made 87% reception (15 digs, 60% excellent) for Sesc.

Despite the defeat, the side from Rio de Janeiro remained at the top of the charts with 8-1 and 23 points. As for Minas, they have kept a perfect record (6-0; 17 points) which was enough only to come in fourth place. It has to be noted that Minas played three games less than Sesc and two games less than vice-leaders Osasco/Audax due to competing in the FIVB Club World Championship.

ITALIAN CUP M: Trentino drop 2-0 in sets, Lube become first finalists

Trentino really started fast in set 1 and 2 and looked really smooth but Lube's experience and identity showed through when it counted. Bruno found the hot spikers at the right time and Simone Gianellli didnt feed the ball enough to his middles and Russell who hit .680 and zero errors. Both Trentino's other pins received more sets and far lower scoring percentages. Doesn't look like Kovacevic will be back this year to form so the coaches need to be smarter.

Hoping the Perugia/Modena match is as good. Reply
