In the premier match of the Superliga Feminina regular season in 2020 (the postponed match of Round 6), Itambé/Minas kept the momentum in the competition and beat Fluminense F.C. at home by a 3-0 (25-20, 28-26, 25-13). The titleholders are having 100% success in the competition, with 9 wins from 9 games, continuing to hunt leaders Sesc RJ. Minas have fewer games played compared to Sesc (9 to 11), due to the participation in the Club World Championship in China. Minas have 25 points, while the Rio de Janeiro team has 29. Thaísa shone for Minas, especially in the blocking (7), finishing the match with 21 points. Ana Paula Borgo scored 13 points for Fluminense.

One more team had to make up for not playing Round 6 for the same reason as Minas. In the return of the famous outside hitter Fernanda Garay “Fê Garay“ after the injury and nose surgery, the vice-champions Dentil/Praia Clube beat the home side of São Paulo FC/Barueri in 4 sets. Praia couldn’t count on Dominican Brayelin Martínez who’s engaged with the national team at the NORCECA Olympic Qualification Tournament. The above mentioned Fê Garay scored game-high 20 points, while Wlaewska Oliveira made 5 kill blocks. As for Barueri, Lorenne Teixeira tallied 15 points. Lays Freitas set up 5 kill blocks.
