Volero Le Cannet have returned to the country of their origin and made a step closer to advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2020 CEV Women’s Volleyball Cup.

Volero Le Cannet have renewed their rivalry with TS Volley Düdingen for a day. The team that moved from Zürich to Côte d’Azur, 2 years ago, played against former Swiss league opponents TS Volley Düdingen in the first leg of the 8th finals of the 2nd tier of European club volleyball and returned to old habits – a 3-0 win, partially 25-18, 25-19, and 25-16. The Russian international Anna Lazareva led Volero with 21 points.

Despite being at the penultimate position in the Russian Championship, Minchanka Minsk had no problems beating the Bosnian side ŽOK Bimal-Jedinstvo Brčko. The team based in Belarus left rivals on single digits in the first set and celebrated a 3-0 victory at the end.

Polish giants Grupa Azoty Chemik Police were one more team that wrote down a straight-set win.

Asterix Avo Beveren emerged victorious from the all-Belgian duel against Hermes Rekkenshop Oostende, not allowing rivals to take revenge on them for losing the playoff final last year. However, Oostende will have one more chance for revenge, in 2 weeks when the 2nd leg is scheduled.

For the first time in history, Italy won’t participate in VNL

Well Sports Fans, the reality is that Italy won't be alone and you can bet more Federations will do the same as this worlwide pandemic evolves. Summer sports for all will not be happening and I can forsee European Leagues holding off until late October and November. Budgets for all clubs and federations are in a holding pattern until we get a better grip on this virus. Its actually a smart decision by the Italians. Hopefully the Atheltes use this time to rest and strengthen their bodies Reply
