The players of the titleholders Cucine Lube Civitanova are returning from a visit to Belgium, where they played the first leg of the 2020 CEV Men’s Volleyball Champions League quarterfinals, with smiles on their faces.

Belgium’s Knack Roeselare provided huge resistance to Italy’s Cucine Lube Civitanova in the first set, failing to convert six set points, which could have given a different note to the first leg of the 2020 Champions League quarterfinals, in general. After that, Lube got a grip and swept rivals in the continuation of a duel.

The European and world champions had as many as five players in double digits in scoring, which is quite unusual for a three-set game. They were led by Osmany Juantorena (15 points). Hendrik Tuerlinckx scored 12 points for Roeselare.
