The current German men’s volleyball championship Bundesliga titleholders, Berlin Recycling Volleys, will turn into a little U.S. colony in the 2018/19.

After renewing with Kyle Russell and signing Dustin Watten, Berlin Recycling Volleys contracted the third American for the next season – Jeff Jendryk. A 22-year-old player signed a two-year deal with Bundesliga champions.

Jendryk, who already has 21 international caps, has just finished third in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League. For two years now, Jendryk has been a member of U.S. national team, collecting plenty of experience at the top level in both the 2017 World League and the 2018 Nations League. He is currently the third United States national team middle blocker behind Maxwell Holt and David Smith.

Jendryk came to BR Volleys directly from Loyola University Chicago, winning the NCAA title with their volleyball team, the Ramblers, in 2015. That year, he made his debut for Loyola and was named AVCA Freshman of the Year and MVP of the NCAA Finals. In addition, he earned his place in AVCA First Team All-America (NCAA volleyball dream team) four times in a row – 2015-2018.

Interestingly, he switched to volleyball only at the age of 16 after previously devoting himself to basketball.
