Dresdner SC regained the trophy in the German Women’s Volleyball Cup after a one-year break.

In a spectacular finale of the 2019/20 DVV-Pokal Frauen, passionate players of Dresdner SC showed incredible morale, especially in the tie-break, to down national champions Allianz MTV Stuttgart in the final that was held in front of the 10,689 spectators at the SAP Arena in Mannheim: 3-2 (25-19, 20-25, 21-25, 28-26, 17-15).

The protégés of Alexander Waibl faced huge blow prior to the match, learning their teammate Ivana Mrdak was diagnosed with thrombosis in the shoulder area. Serbian middle blocker will be sidelined indefinitely. Dresdner secured the sixth success in the cup (1999, 2002, 2010, 2016, 2018, 2020) after canceling as many as five match points in the tie-break, the first one at 12-14.

American Kadie Rolfzen top-scored for Dresdner with 23 points, while her compatriot Krystal Rivers had a surreal display of 37 points!

INTERVIEW: Hippe for WoV – “Live in the moment and make the best out of it”

'Until a year ago, Hippe was an indispensable member of the Germany National Team.' is not correct. She has not been playing for the national team since 2013. Reply

For the first time in history, Italy won’t participate in VNL

Well Sports Fans, the reality is that Italy won't be alone and you can bet more Federations will do the same as this worlwide pandemic evolves. Summer sports for all will not be happening and I can forsee European Leagues holding off until late October and November. Budgets for all clubs and federations are in a holding pattern until we get a better grip on this virus. Its actually a smart decision by the Italians. Hopefully the Atheltes use this time to rest and strengthen their bodies Reply
