According to the Italian media, the captain of Lube Dragan Stankovic is spending his last season in a jersey of Lube Civitanova.

He’s been playing in Lube for ten years and now at the age of 33 will have to search for a new team.

The fans of Lube Civitanova don’t agree with the decision of the club, that is planning to sign Mateusz Bieniek, the Polish 23-year old World Champion.

They even had a message for Dragan, during the game, saying “There’s only one captain”.

The Serbian middle blocker witnessed all the successes of this team over the past 10 years and it seems his experience with Lube has come to an end.

That is the world of pro sport. If Miljkovic, one of the best players of all time, for sure one with the most individual titles, had to leave because of younger Sokolov a few years ago, than no one is safe.
Stankovic’s performance has been going down for years now, I am frankly surprised that he still has spot in starting lineup. I couldn’t believe they let Candellaro leave while they kept Stankovic. Candellaro is 4 years younger, better and he is Italian which would have relieved the pressure of too many foreigners for Lube. Because of this nonsense decision, Trentino is much better and Lube is in problems.

Re: @former_player
Exactly. For Cucine Lube Civitanova you need a middle blocker one that has fresh blood, i.e. young, capable.

Candellaro better than Stanković? In what universe?

Re: @A In this one, Candellaro is 12th in the league, while Stankovic is not in first 20, http://www.legavolley.it/rendimento/?Tipo=2&Classifica=2.6&AnnoInizio=2018&AnnoFine=2018&Serie=1&Fase=1&Giornata=0&Pos=20
another stat, Candellaro is 15th while Stankovic is 30th, http://www.legavolley.it/statistiche/?TipoStat=2.4&Serie=1&AnnoInizio=2018&Fase=1&AnnoFine=2018&Ruolo=1

Re: @former_player
Yes, but you forgot for italian rule ONLY for 3 foreigner players in the some time in a square!!!
So… Leal,Simon and Sokolov…. and there is no place for Dragan.

Re: @pepo I said in my original comment there are too many foreign players in Lube so if they kept Candellaro they wouldn’t have that problem. You forgot Bruno 🙂 Lube has 5 foreign players in total, like Foreign Legion, Leal, Simon, Sokolov, Bruno and Stankovic

Re: @former_player
rule is: They need 2 players italian in the some time, and every time in a square… So with Leal, Bruno, Sokolov,Simon -is not possible another foreign player to play. And this player is Dragan -he know this year is last for him for the team.
Also maybe Sokolov go to Kazan from last information

Re: @pepo I believe the rule is that at least 3 players out of starting 7 have to be Italian nationality. That’s why Stankovic and Simon never play together, it’s either one or another. Leal, Bruno, and Sokolov always play.
The only way that Sokolov might go to Zenit is if Mikhailov decided to leave since he is better opposite anyway. There is no way that Mikhailov will play outside hitter in Zenit.
