NORCECA U21 M: Cuba defeat Dominican Republic to lift the trophy!

The Cuban boys have won the Norceca U21 volleyball championship.

 

Cuba needed only three sets to defeat the rival in the final. They have performed at the high level, especially in the first two sets, leaving no space for the rival to answer back.

The top scorer of the game was the opposite of Cuba Jose Romero Gonzales with 16 points, while on the other side Bayron Valdez Pena had 15 points.

The final of the Norceca U21 Championship

Cuba - Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-20)

The Third place match:

Canada - USA 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 25-27, 25-17)

Semifinals:

Cuba – Canada 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-18)

USA – Dominican Republic 1-3 (25-21, 23-25, 24-26, 18-25)

As exciting as it is to see foreigners putting up a show for your fans, it does nothing to help the development of the local talents. And some teams even have Filipino Americans playing as 'locals', while still having the additions of foreign players on the same team as well. Why not just have those Fil American count as the foreigners, so they won't take the space of locals? The Philippines ranks #117, I think you guys should get your act together first. Even North Korea ranks higher, has a NT and program, but no league........and that says a lot. lol Reply
