Vlado Nikolov will be playing volleyball again!

Two and a half years ago he retired and now the fans of Levski Sofia will have the opportunity to watch legendary Nikolov again.

In the last two seasons, he was the president and the senior coach of Levski Sofia. The surprising decision came after the injuries of his two opposites Miyakov and Pankov.

Nikolov will play in the Bulgarian Championship for the first time since April 2002, when he began his rich international career.

He will wear a jersey number 1 because his number 11 is already taken by his eldest son, Alexander Nikolov.

We have some difficulties in the roster. The only option was to look for a player from abroad, but I prefer to solve problems internally. I’m taking a risk, but I have to paraphrase the words of our patron Vasil Levski: If I get injured, I only lose myself and I if I win, It will be a win for the whole team,“ says Nikolov for sportal.bg and adds – „I will be playing until the return of our opposites.“

PHI W: Foton and Sta. Lucia open Superliga in a winning way

As exciting as it is to see foreigners putting up a show for your fans, it does nothing to help the development of the local talents. And some teams even have Filipino Americans playing as 'locals', while still having the additions of foreign players on the same team as well. Why not just have those Fil American count as the foreigners, so they won't take the space of locals? The Philippines ranks #117, I think you guys should get your act together first. Even North Korea ranks higher, has a NT and program, but no league........and that says a lot. lol Reply
