BEL M: Belgium find a successor for Andrea Anastasi

866 0

The Belgian men’s volleyball national team has a new head coach.

It’s Brecht Van Kerckhove, a coach that was assistant of Vital Heynen and Andrea Anastasi in this national team.

It’s an honour to proceed with this project,” said Van Kerckhove. “But it’s also the logical choice because I can use my skills to build upon what Heynen and Anastasi started. With my own accents and the support of a great staff, we’ll guide the Red Dragons to new success to pursue the Olympic dream.”

Van Kerckhove started his career in 2008 as the assistant of Vital Heynen at the Belgian club Noliko Maaseik. Since then, he also assisted Gert Vande Broek with the women’s national team, again Vital Heynen, and Andrea Anastasi with the men.

@Suisse thanks for the clarification, yes the Italian league is super strong this year and Russell's playing is getting better, his jump serves are stronger and consistently staying in and his passing has improved. Russell has the ability to switch gears into the next level in big games and tournaments, when it counts. Reply
