The top seed Vecumnieki were crowned Nacionālā Volejbola līga 1 2018/2019 champions after beating No.4 seed SK RTU in a single-game final by a 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23).

Vecumneiki finished the regular season with an 11-3 record (33 points) finishing the first-placed side in front of VK Ozolnieki who were eliminated already in the quarterfinals to No.7 seed Aizpute. This made the Vecumnieki’s road to the title much easier.

The last season’s titleholders VK Ventspils were eliminated in the semifinals by SK RTU and eventually claimed the bronze medal.

As for the gold medal encounter, Andris Zadovskis from the winning side scored the game-high 22 points and made an astonishing 96% positive reception (just like his teammate Rolands Plēsnieks). Zadovskis finished the season as No.1 in both segments. The whole team of Vecumnieki was amazing in reception in the final – 93%! Jānis Muižnieks notched 18 points for SK RTU.
