The JT Marvelous prevailed over the Okayama Seagulls in the do-or-die final game of the 2019/20 Japanese Women’s Volleyball Championship and won their 2nd title.

In the single-match final of the 2019/20 V.League Division 1 Women, held in front of the 4,499 spectators at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, the Marvelous (No.1 in Pool B in Top 8) beat surprising gold medal contender Seagulls (No.2 in Pool B) by 3-2 (25-22, 24-26, 23-25, 25-14, 15-7). Thus, the team from Nishinomiya won their second championship ever the first after 9 years.

The best U.S. female volleyball player in 2019, Andrea Drews, shone in the final with 36 points, while prospect Kotona Hayashi added 23. Sanae Watanabe scored 21 points for the Seagulls, who were one of the 2 teams that had no foreign players in their roster (the other one was Hitachi Rivale) this season, which makes winning the silver medal a huge result.

TUR W: VakıfBank and Eczacıbaşı extend their brutal winning streaks

Sonja Newcombe's transfer to Eczacibasi was hopeless. She is very ineffective in attack. In the match against PTT Spor didn't finish 6 balls in attack. For 2 sets she didn't score any points.

ITA M: De Cecco has contract with Lube in his hands, Bruno going in opposite direction?

Re: @Direktor De Cecco doesn't have hitters like Juantorean, Leal, Simon. Leon and Atanasijevic are not enough. Rychlicki is already a good opposite, will only grow in the next few years to become 1st class.
I am not sure if you noticed that two Perugia starters (Lanza and Podrascanin) were benched in the 4th set. Lube is just too good, they are the best in the world right now.

Re: @former_player
Agree on that, they could try getting Toniutti or Marouf, better choices in my opinion that De Cecco. Lube won a few days ago because of De Cecco's bad decisions, Perugia attackers were in much better mood that Lube's. Reply
