The president of the PZPS Jacek Kasprzyk has commented on the Wilfredo Leon’s chance to play in the Polish national team.

The Cuban-born player will get the opportunity to play for Poland during the upcoming summer.

“Period of two years expires on July 24 and only after that day, Wilfredo will be allowed to appear in a white eagle shirt. This is most important for us. Wilfredo will be invited to the team and like the other players will have to show up on the first day, because it is indispensable. The coach will decide if he will be in the team. We gave him a chance. If he shows that he is better than others, he will play. He will not be in the squad for the just because of his name.”

As exciting as it is to see foreigners putting up a show for your fans, it does nothing to help the development of the local talents. And some teams even have Filipino Americans playing as 'locals', while still having the additions of foreign players on the same team as well. Why not just have those Fil American count as the foreigners, so they won't take the space of locals? The Philippines ranks #117, I think you guys should get your act together first. Even North Korea ranks higher, has a NT and program, but no league........and that says a lot. lol Reply
