Poland Men’s Volleyball national team and Vital Heynen are marching towards the same goal – the gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Poland topped Pool D of the FIVB International Qualifier, that was played on their soil, leaving France and Slovenia to fight for their places in the Olympics through brutally strong European Qualification Tournament in January next year.

“Slovenia played without pressure. Their chances of promotion were very low, so they could play at ease. They started by being 2-3 points ahead of us in the first set and, throughout the whole set, we were several points behind them. In the second set, we started evenly, but there was a lot of fight. It’s volleyball, pressure plays a role here. And we played under pressure because we wanted to qualify. I feel satisfied that we won the qualification here. Especially, because in Poland you are constantly talking about the fact that the second year of work is the worst, and we already have won the bronze in the Nations League and gained the Olympic qualification at the first attempt. So, it’s probably not too bad! You should stop saying that. We have a great team, we work well, cooperation and communication between players and staff are very good - we can achieve good results in the first, second, third and seventh year of work,” Poland head coach Heynen stated after the match against Slovenia.

Later, the Belgian expert posted a highly motivational tweet, warming hearts of the Polish fans:

“Tokyo, Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 14:15 Polish time... put this in your agenda. That is when and where we all want to write history #goldmedal. Thanks to Gdańsk, our great players, our magnificent fans for making the first step. Your coach, Vital Heynen,” he wrote.

CHN W: Kosheleva prevails in face-off with Zhu but Tianjin emerge victoriously from match vs. Guangdong

Kosheleva was without a doubt the most impressive player of the match Reply

ITA M: Lube annul powerful display of León to beat Perugia in derby of all derbies

This is a very impressive start for Lube. They still serve and block very well......Perugia not so much.

Perugia is in trouble this year with a record of 10-10 in sets and currently in 5th place. Most every team is improved this year and having to rely on Leon to separate games for you is not the answer Perugia can rely on in this league.
Lube 10 aces (Bruno - 4aces....wow)
Perugia 5 (Leon 1ace) not enough. Reply

CHN W: Kosheleva prevails in face-off with Zhu but Tianjin emerge victoriously from match vs. Guangdong

Guangdong is putting too much on Kosheleva. The team should also do their job. I'm a fan of Zhu but I want Kosheleva to shut her down. Hooker is also being under utilized. They rarely pass the ball to her. The CVL also seems boring than the CEV (European VB). Reply
