The 2019/20 Polish Women’s Volleyball Championship newcomers Wisła Warszawa are sanctioned by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

Despite having high ambitions in the 2019/20 Liga Siatkówki Kobiet after winning the silver medal in the second division (I liga kobiet) last season, Wisła currently occupy the last place in the charts with 0-3. The main reason for this lies in the fact that they could not count on the trio of foreign players, Ukrainian Olena Novgorodchenko and Brazilians Joyce Silva “Joycinha” and Nikolle Corrêa “Niki Del Rio”, since the beginning of the season.

According to To Fly Volleyball, this is because Wisła were sanctioned by the FIVB for having problems in payments to the players in the 2018/19 season while they were still playing the second division. The punishment does not prevent the team from the Polish capital from playing but it does not allow them to have foreigners at the disposal until they resolve the economic issues. Wisła will likely be sanction-free sometime this month.

TUR W: VakıfBank’s hellish plan – Bartsch to come in January, Egonu in summer!

I don't know about this. I think Haak is doing well but not great since she is the highest paid player on the team. Haak has been working really hard, lost weight to jump higher, hit the ball well but just not putting the ball away on her attacks. Gabi is a good attacker but she is just too short therefore being blocked easily. They had 4 match points against Imoco but failed. I believe the key reason is they don't have enough offensive plays to confuse the defense. The blame should be on the whole team including the coach. Ebrar is practically useless, Rasic's blocking is just not the same and their defense overall is lacking. I also think Vakifbank is rethinking about Zhu Ting seeing how serious her wrist injury is. CWCH 2019 M: Bruninho refuses to receive MVP award and hands it to Leal (VIDEO)!

Re: @Agguerro Because this will lead to anarchy where individual players are deciding who deserves an award. No one is always right, and we all know that FIVB is more wrong than right. But it is FIVB competition and they make or change a rule as they see it fit. Like reducing number of participants to 4 this year. Or awarding the best setter and MVP award to the same person although in the past those two awards were intentionally given to two different players?
Did you ever wonder why Perugia and Trentino, last year champion, don't participate anymore? Because they don't want to be part of this nonsense competition that doesn't mean anything. But if Lube accepted to be part of, then they should follow the rules they accepted. Reply
