The Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship side Jastrzębski Węgiel informed that they released Roberto Santilli from his duties of a head coach.

The Management Board of Jastrzębski Węgiel decided to part ways with the head coach Santilli because of the unsatisfactory level of the team’s play and the lack of expected results. At the same time, the PlusLiga team informed it will try to find the new solution for an empty post as soon as possible. The fitness coach, Australian Luke Reynolds, will take charge of the role of the head coach until then.

So far, Jastrzębski have 3-5 record in the 2019/20 PlusLiga regular season. Interestingly, the Italian expert Santilli was sacked on the night when his team achieved the second successive win in the competition: 3-2 vs. BKS Visła Bydgoszcz, on November 19.

This was the second mandate of Santilli in Jastrzębski. The first time, he led the team from 2007 to 2010 and won the national Cup and became the league's runner-up. He again joined the club this summer, coming from Indykpol AZS Olsztyn.

TUR W: VakıfBank’s hellish plan – Bartsch to come in January, Egonu in summer!

I don't know about this. I think Haak is doing well but not great since she is the highest paid player on the team. Haak has been working really hard, lost weight to jump higher, hit the ball well but just not putting the ball away on her attacks. Gabi is a good attacker but she is just too short therefore being blocked easily. They had 4 match points against Imoco but failed. I believe the key reason is they don't have enough offensive plays to confuse the defense. The blame should be on the whole team including the coach. Ebrar is practically useless, Rasic's blocking is just not the same and their defense overall is lacking. I also think Vakifbank is rethinking about Zhu Ting seeing how serious her wrist injury is. Re: @Agguerro Because this will lead to anarchy where individual players are deciding who deserves an award. No one is always right, and we all know that FIVB is more wrong than right. But it is FIVB competition and they make or change a rule as they see it fit. Like reducing number of participants to 4 this year. Or awarding the best setter and MVP award to the same person although in the past those two awards were intentionally given to two different players?
Did you ever wonder why Perugia and Trentino, last year champion, don't participate anymore? Because they don't want to be part of this nonsense competition that doesn't mean anything. But if Lube accepted to be part of, then they should follow the rules they accepted. Reply
