RUS W: Goncharova – “It’s wrong to honor football players for reaching quarterfinals”

Nataliya Goncharova, the opposite of Dinamo Moscow and Russian women’s national team have disagreed with the decision of the Ministry of Sports to give the award of “Honored Masters of Sports” to all the players of football national team.

Well, I was surprised when the Russian national team football players were given the title of Honored Master of Sports for reaching the quarter-finals at the World Championship. This is unfair for other sports. I agree with many athletes who said the same thing. Simply, it was wrong. It turns out that unequal attitude to the other sports. Ones need to win the World Cup or the Olympics to get this title, while others need to get into the quarter-finals. Winning the World Cup or the Olympic Games is a big deal,“ says Goncharova for RIA Novosti.

She has also added that one day maybe she will accept the offer to take in some photo-shooting.
