577 0

Yuri Marichev has quickly found a new team to lead in the Russian women’s Super League.

After leaving the helm of Proton, where he spent two years, his new team is Yenisey Krasnoyarsk.

Yenisey are currently in the 6th place with an 8-7 score, while his former team has a 0-15 score.

Marichev became the coach of Proton Saratov in October 2017. He was the head coach of the Russian women’s national team (2013-2016) winning two European Championship golds (2013, 2015).

After suffering a defeat at the Olympic Games 2016, he was dismissed. Also, he worked as the head coach of the men’s team of Dinamo Moscow.

Recall that Proton's player got into a difficult situation a few days ago, since she was deported from Russia...

PHI W: Foton and Sta. Lucia open Superliga in a winning way

As exciting as it is to see foreigners putting up a show for your fans, it does nothing to help the development of the local talents. And some teams even have Filipino Americans playing as 'locals', while still having the additions of foreign players on the same team as well. Why not just have those Fil American count as the foreigners, so they won't take the space of locals? The Philippines ranks #117, I think you guys should get your act together first. Even North Korea ranks higher, has a NT and program, but no league........and that says a lot. lol Reply
