The voice of Grankin from Germany – “The attitude toward players in the Russian volleyball is terrible”

Sergey Grankin has talked about the difficulties that he had a few weeks ago...

A new head coach came and didn’t want to work with me. This is the first reason. The second is the lack of result. The management had to do something, they decided to change not only the coach but also the main setter. We worked with the new head coach literally a week, maximum two. I think he came with a prepared solution for me. When he called, I was ready for this news. Of course, there was some kind of anger. In general, the attitude towards players in Russian volleyball is terrible. It’s a fact. At any time, you can find yourself on the street, doesn’t matter if you are the Olympic Champion or not. Players are not protected at all. If the leadership want to get rid of you – he gets rid of you. Should be some fines for it? Yes, there should be some fines but we are not in football or hockey,” says Grankin.

Recall that Dinamo Moscow parted ways with Grankin and he has decided to join the German side BR Volleys.

Also, Grankin said that he could play for Yaroslavich but he went abroad.

PHI W: Foton and Sta. Lucia open Superliga in a winning way

As exciting as it is to see foreigners putting up a show for your fans, it does nothing to help the development of the local talents. And some teams even have Filipino Americans playing as 'locals', while still having the additions of foreign players on the same team as well. Why not just have those Fil American count as the foreigners, so they won't take the space of locals? The Philippines ranks #117, I think you guys should get your act together first. Even North Korea ranks higher, has a NT and program, but no league........and that says a lot. lol Reply
