Iliyas Kurkaev
The middle blocker of Lokomotiv Novosibirsk Ilyas Kurkaev has commented on the appointment of Tuomas Sammelvuo for the head coach of the Russian men’s national team.
“I know coach Sammelvuo well. We used to play in the same team. I think it’s a good move to appoint him as the head coach. His work in Kuzbass is very good and it shows a high-quality volleyball. He played this championship, he speaks Russian well, he is familiar with our culture, these are all important things. Tuomas Sammelvuo is a good choice,” says Kurkaev for the official website of the team.
Recall that the Russian Federation have hired Sammelvuo for the head coach of the men’s team.
