RUS M: Alekno – “I see all the prerequisites for Verbov to become a good coach”

The head coach of Zenit Kazan Vladimir Alekno sees Alexey Verbov as a good coach in the future…


I have a contract as a head coach for the next season, Verbov will be my assistant. He will have more confidence than before. I may not be present at some away matches that include long flights, but I will still control the situation. I want to look a little at everything from the side. Maybe Alex will add freshness, new methods in work. You know him well. He is more democratic and has a huge motivation to prove that he is on the right track,” says Alekno and adds:

I see all the prerequisites for him to become a good coach. It seems that he decided to finish his career. His absence may be a problem for us but I hope two young liberos will handle it. Also, there is a chance for Verbov to play for Russia for the Olympic Games tournament. In Zenit, he will be only a coach until January, afterwards we will see.”

as a turkish fan i hope they d never prefer akbas, the former turkish nt coach and assistant coach in vakif,he knows guidetti s system and turkish players well.considering netherlands is the most serious opponent in olympic qualification for us he might be dangerous. all other coaches ok. Reply
