The All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VFV) informed that the head coach of its Women’s Volleyball National Team, which was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the CEV European Championship that ended last weekend, Vladimir Pankov left his post “for health reasons”.

The VFV found a quick solution to replace Pankov. His assistant Sergio Busato, who has been continuously working in Russia both in clubs and national teams since 2011, will lead “Zbornaya” at the FIVB World Cup in Japan that will start at the end of the week.

The Italian expert came into the spotlight recently for causing an international Volleyball scandal by posing for a photo in a way that was insulting for Asian people and was disqualified by the FIVB. He served his sentence at the 2019 EuroVolley. Busato spent most of his coaching career in Russian male Volleyball, even being involved in winning the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

The Italian coach will lead the national team only temporarily until the VFV officials meet in November to decide whether he will stay at the helm or not.

And if you only wanted to pass along a criticism, you should have left your last sentence out and sounded less insulting.
