Miriam Sylla is one of the leaders of Imoco Volley and the Italian women’s national team.

In the interview, she mostly talked about the national team and the club’s season.

Since the interview was made by the FIVB, they started with the questions about their main competition that was held at the end of last year.

How do you feel about your team’s performance at the World Championship?

I am proud of what we did because, after so many years, we were able to put Italy back as one of the top teams. We had an incredible experience in Japan and we wouldn’t change anything about that experience. We were all very happy!“

What would you want to improve in this season and for seasons to come?

I want to try to be a better player and give my best every day, and win a lot of trophies with my team.“

Who are your closest friends in the national team?

Paola Egonu is my closest friend in the national team, we’ve been great friends and we support each other a lot. I have a great relationship with Moki (De Gennaro), Lia (Malinov) and Cristina (Chirichella).“

How is your club season going so far?

The season is going well. We won the Italian Supercup and we played in the Italian Cup final. I think we can do even better than our performance in that tournament and soon we will have the busiest period of our season in Italy and Europe.“

Are there any players you look up to?

Honestly, I really cannot choose. I admire a lot of players and I like them a lot.“

If you were to create your own Dream Team, who are the six players - past or present - you would like to play with?

My Dream Team would be composed of the following:

Outside Spiker (1): Zhu Ting

Setter (1): Joanna Wolosz

Middle Blockers (2): Raphaela Folie and Anna Danesi

Opposite (1): Paola Egonu

Libero (1): Monica De Gennaro

What are your expectations for the next edition of the Volleyball Nations League?

I hope that our team will be able to sustain its momentum and level to win a gold medal this year. For my part, my fans can expect grit and desire to fight and a lot of fun in play.“

ITA W: Fenerbahçe say goodbye to Bricio – Mexican player moves to Scandicci

Re: @doğan are you serious!?? This decision was made by Bricio herself. She does not wanna stay in Constantinople, she wanna return to Italy because she is unhappy. Are you able to understand this bitter fact!!! Players like Fe Garay, Fabiana chose to play in Fener in order to make more money. After playing 1 season, they all left! Same is valid for Bricio. GO GIRL!!!
