“Budowlani… thank you for an amazing season. I will have you in my heart for the rest of my life. It was the pleasure and honor to play for this team and great fans,” the Serbian opposite hitter posted on her Instagram profile after becoming the Liga Siatkówki Kobiet 2018/2019 runner-up with Grot Budowlani Łódź.

A former Serbia national team member had a memorable season behind her, scoring a record 639 points in the Polish top division and winning nine MVP of the Match awards.

According to unofficial information from Italian media, a 31-year-old Brakočević-Canzian will join Igor Gorgonzola Novara for the next season, which would be her return to the Italian volleyball after two seasons (Liu Jo Nordmeccanica Modena 2016/17).

It also seems that Novara are about to form a mighty squad for the 2019/20. The American Michelle Bartsch is, at this point, closer to stay in the club than to leave for China. The same goes for the middle blocker’s duo Cristina Chirichella – Stefana Veljković, and libero Stefania Sansonna.

Bartsch’s compatriot Micha Hancock (Saugella team Monza) and Bulgarian Elitsa Vasileva (Savino Del Bene Scandicci) are close to joining Novara and filling in the line-up as the setter and outside hitter, respectively.
