CL M: Istanbul BBSK barely down Finnish side Valepa

Istanbul BBSK have opened the Champions League season by defeating Valepa away in a thrilling five-sets game!

 

It was a super exciting game for the fans. The home team had a lead twice in this match, but they couldn't make it... They were close in the tie-break, but Istanbul have shown that they are much more experienced in these situations.

Metin Toy was at the high level, finishing the game with 29 points. His teammate Burak Gungor added 21.

In Valepa, Lamont Greene had a good display, scoring 21 points.

Champions League qualifiers, first round, first leg:

Soligorsk – Frankfurt 0-3 (21-25 22-25, 20-25)

Valepa – Istanbul BBSK 2-3 (25-22, 19-25, 25-16, 21-25, 15-17)

Mladost Brcko – Neftohimic Burgas 19:00 CET

Ni Yan is the best blocker in this competition. Her average block per set in the highest. And she scores more points than Anna Danesi. Ni Yan definitely is the 1st Middle Blocker in this competition. She deserved the title. Reply
