The reigning champions Sada Cruzeiro have opened the fourth round of the Brazilian men’s Superliga with a victory.

At the home court, the team led by Marcelo Mendez defeated Caramuru Volei in straight sets 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-20).

Sada Cruzeiro had to play this game yesterday because they have to prepare for the Club World Championship in Poland, that will start later this month.

Kevin Le Roux was the best scorer with 11 points, while Rodriguinho had 10 points, receiving VIVA Volei trophy.

Today, we played a good game and regardless of the opponent. I think we have managed to adjust some things, our serve, our attack, which gives us more confidence for the Club World Championship. Now, it’s all about preparing for the Club World Championship because we will have a very difficult competition,” says Marcelo Mendez.

PHI W: Foton and Sta. Lucia open Superliga in a winning way

As exciting as it is to see foreigners putting up a show for your fans, it does nothing to help the development of the local talents. And some teams even have Filipino Americans playing as 'locals', while still having the additions of foreign players on the same team as well. Why not just have those Fil American count as the foreigners, so they won't take the space of locals? The Philippines ranks #117, I think you guys should get your act together first. Even North Korea ranks higher, has a NT and program, but no league........and that says a lot. lol Reply
