ITA W: Imoco give their fans another straight-set win over Monza for Easter

Imoco Volley Conegliano confidently march toward 2018/19 Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship finals.

 

The top seed Imoco Volley Conegliano made a joyful Easter evening to their fans, who nearly filled the stands at Palaverde hall to the top (4,000 spectators), with a straight-set victory over No.4 seed Saugella Team Monza in Game 2 of the 2018/19 Samsung Volley Cup A1 playoff semifinals: 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-22). Game 1 also went into the favor of Imoco with a 3-0. Thus, in two days, Imoco will have the first match point for advancing to the playoff finals, hosting Monza again in front of own crowd.

Croatian Samanta Fabris from Imoco scored game-high 18 points while Monica De Gennaro had an outstanding display in defense with 83% positive reception (18 total, 63% perfect). Serena Ortolani scored 10 points for Monza.

2018/19 Samsung Volley Cup A1 playoff semifinals – Game 2:

(1) Imoco Volley Conegliano – (4) Saugella Team Monza 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-22), series 2-0

(2) Igor Gorgonzola Novara – (3) Savino Del Bene Scandicci, series 1-1

FRA M: Ngapeth has a question for the FIVB

um...did he protest as loudly during Italian tournaments in the past? really, if Poland was playing this tournament in France, we would have as unreasonable schedule as they had and, we too, would complain, but what does it matter? FIVB accepted the schedule, so Ngapeth can only blame his own federation for not fighting for this tournament's organization rights more. Reply
