Allianz Milano ran over vice-champions Sir Safety Conad Perugia in an advanced match of the 2019/20 Italian Men’s Volleyball Championship regular season!

Milano have won their second match in the 2019/20 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season and kept the perfect record. This victory was huge knowing that they beat one of the title contenders Perugia on the road and in straight sets: 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-22)!

Perugia head coach Heynen gave the chance to backups Russo and Plotnytskyi from the start of the match but changed them in the second set as it was visible that Milano play on a high level. Visitors, deprived of the help from Piano until the end of the season due to ACL injury, were powered by mesmerizing Dutch opposite hitter Nimir Abdel-Aziz. He delivered 26 points (9 in the first set), which is surreal output for a three-set game! Wilfredo León scored 16 points for Perugia.

3-0 is suprising but the win by Milano is not.
Perugia did nothing to improve in the offseason except start with tired players.
Lube is worse with the massive loss of Sokolov.
Modena is improved and fresh and exciting.
Trentino is the 'watermark' this year for sure. 3 elite outsides in their prime and every player healthier than last year.

The torch will be past

TUR W: VakıfBank’s hellish plan – Bartsch to come in January, Egonu in summer!

I don't know about this. I think Haak is doing well but not great since she is the highest paid player on the team. Haak has been working really hard, lost weight to jump higher, hit the ball well but just not putting the ball away on her attacks. Gabi is a good attacker but she is just too short therefore being blocked easily. They had 4 match points against Imoco but failed. I believe the key reason is they don't have enough offensive plays to confuse the defense. The blame should be on the whole team including the coach. Ebrar is practically useless, Rasic's blocking is just not the same and their defense overall is lacking. I also think Vakifbank is rethinking about Zhu Ting seeing how serious her wrist injury is. CWCH 2019 M: Bruninho refuses to receive MVP award and hands it to Leal (VIDEO)!

Re: @Agguerro Because this will lead to anarchy where individual players are deciding who deserves an award. No one is always right, and we all know that FIVB is more wrong than right. But it is FIVB competition and they make or change a rule as they see it fit. Like reducing number of participants to 4 this year. Or awarding the best setter and MVP award to the same person although in the past those two awards were intentionally given to two different players?
Did you ever wonder why Perugia and Trentino, last year champion, don't participate anymore? Because they don't want to be part of this nonsense competition that doesn't mean anything. But if Lube accepted to be part of, then they should follow the rules they accepted. Reply
