The Turkish Women’s Volleyball Championship newcomers PTT will be very strong on the outside hitter’s position next season.

As the Division 2 champions in Turkey last season PTT announced, their roster for the top-flight debut will be reinforced with the Peruvian power Ángela Leyva. A 22-year-old player came from the Brazilian side Osasco Voleibol Clube/Audax, previously gathering awards for the MVP and Best Scorer (once each) and Best Outside Hitter (twice) in the Peruvian League. Internationally, Leyva was named South American Championship Best Outside Hitter twice and South American Club Championship Best Outside Hitter four times.

In addition to the Peruvian star, PTT hired several more newcomers for the 2019/20: opposite hitter Polen Ünver (ex-Uslupehlivan, Fenerbahçe Opet), middle blocker Janset Erkul (Beşiktaş), libero Ceren Önal (İlbank, Division 2), and outside hitter Ezgi Dağdelenler (Fenerbahçe Opet).

The setter Dolunay Çetinkaya, captain Ayşe Kılıç, middle blockers Selin Toy and Ceren Baysal, libero Burcu Genç, and head coach Bülent Karslıoğlu extended their contracts with PTT.

POL M: Heynen criticizes EuroVolley format – “It’s not good for Volleyball”

[@John Doek] Everyone criticised VNL, Heynen being one of them, when its formula was introduced. It is mainly the fault of VNL that there is so little time to rest and prepare for bigger tournaments in the second part of national season, there is too much matches to play. Reply

WC 2019 W: Netherlands surprisingly sweep Brazil on Balkestein’s birthday, China wreck Russia

I don't like the comment that Balkestein-Grothues underperformed! We all know she is there to receive and defend. As you said: 0 aces for Brazil, so she did a great job! Aswell did Schoot, who was almost perfect in receive and defence! Reply
